25 Years of Excellence
Ballet First – Classical Ballet School in Old Harlow, Essex.
Our ballet school was established in 1999 by Theresa Crumb, former student of The Royal Ballet School and founding member of the Royal Ballet, Leo Kersley.
Ballet First is located in Old Harlow, Essex.

Ballet First provides expert training in traditional Classical Ballet, from 6 years to adults for vocational and recreational students. We have produced dancers who have continued into sustained professional careers, gaining places with Northern Ballet Company, Ballet Fantastique in Oregon USA, The Royal Ballet School, Central School of Ballet, London Studio Centre, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, London Contemporary Dance School, Urdang academy, Trinity Laban, Ballet West Scotland, King’s College and Bodywork Cambridge.

Ballet First practices inclusivity, diversity and individuality. We train dancers in technical and artistic development preparing them for the next stage in their dance careers. We follow the Royal Ballet School new methods of training.

Our Principal Theresa Crumb is a Royal Ballet School Alumni and adopts the teaching practices of the prestigious school throughout Ballet First.l Teachers are DBS checked and fully insured.
Performance Opportunities
Ballet First presents performance opportunities for students to showcase their achievements.
We also offer regular scheduled parent viewing days for families to observe their child's progress, throughout their training with us.
